Campus Scholarships and Awards

In addition to the financial aid offered by the university, Penn State Lehigh Valley students are also eligible for a number of campus-specific scholarships and awards. These scholarships recognize academic achievement, and may also require demonstrated financial need.

Penn State Lehigh Valley students are considered for campus scholarships and awards. These scholarships and awards recognize academic achievement and may also require demonstrated financial need. All students who are offered admission and submit a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to Penn State are considered for scholarships awarded by the Office of Student Aid.

Penn State Alumni Association Trustee Scholarship
Consideration for the Penn State Alumni Association Trustee Scholarship is given to all undergraduate students enrolled or planning to enroll at Penn State Lehigh Valley who demonstrate financial need. The Office of Student Aid is responsible for identifying the eligible pool of students. This scholarship shall be awarded for one academic year and may be renewed for subsequent years providing the recipient continues to meet the conditions of eligibility and funds are available.

Penn State Lehigh Valley Alumni Society First Year Scholarship
The purpose of the Penn State Lehigh Valley Alumni Society First Year Scholarship is to provide recognition and financial assistance to outstanding students enrolled or planning to enroll at Penn State Lehigh Valley who demonstrate need. To be considered, students must be enrolled or planning to enroll at Penn State Lehigh Valley, demonstrate financial need, and achieved superior academic records or who manifest promise of outstand academic success. This scholarship will be awarded for one academic year.

Penn State Lehigh Valley Campus Scholarship
Consideration for the Penn State Lehigh Valley Campus Scholarship shall be given to all potential freshman and full-time undergraduates in The Pennsylvania State University, who have achieved superior academic records, have distinguished themselves by extracurricular involvement and service, and have documented financial need. Entering freshmen shall be given preference. This scholarship may be utilized only while an undergraduate is at the particular campus for which the award was offered. Each scholarship shall be awarded for one academic year.

Lehigh Valley Campus Alumni Scholarship
The purpose of the Lehigh Valley Campus Alumni Scholarship is to provide recognition and financial assistance to outstanding student enrolled or planning to enroll at the Lehigh Valley Campus. To be eligible, students must be enrolled or planning to enroll at the Lehigh Valley campus, who have achieved superior academic records or who manifest promise of outstanding academic success and who demonstrate involvement in the campus, their community or family. Each scholarship shall be awarded for one academic year, but may be renewed for subsequent years providing the recipient continues to meet the conditions of eligibility and funds are available.

Lehigh Valley Chapter of the Penn State Alumni Association Scholarship
Consideration for this scholarship shall be given to all undergraduate students enrolled or planning to enroll at Penn State Lehigh Valley who have achieved superior academic records or who manifest promise of outstanding academic success. First preference shall be given to students whose permanent residence is located in Lehigh County or Northampton County, Pennsylvania. Each scholarship shall be awarded for one academic year.

Bayard D. & Ethel M. Kunkle Scholarship
The purpose of the Bayard D. and Ethel M. Kunkle Scholarship Fund is to recognize and assist outstanding undergraduate students enrolled at various Commonwealth Campuses of The Pennsylvania State University who exemplify good citizenship, leadership, service, professional promise and academic honors. This scholarship shall be awarded for one academic year, but may be renewed by the selection committee providing the recipient continues to meet the conditions of eligibility and funds are available

Charles R. McAnall III Trustee Scholarship
To be eligible for the Charles R. McAnall Trustee Scholarship, students must be enrolled or planning to enroll at Penn State Lehigh Valley who have demonstrated financial need. First preference shall be given to students majoring in or planning to major in Arts Administration, or similar or successor degree program. If no students meet this preference in the given year, funds will be awarded to any student in the Penn State Lehigh Valley eligibility pool. Each scholarship shall be awarded for one academic year and may be renewed for subsequent years providing the recipient continues to meet the conditions of eligibility and funds are available.

Donald E. Allen Memorial Scholarship
The purpose of the Donald E. Allen Memorial Scholarship is to encourage and assist exceptionally promising first-year or new students to attend the Penn State Lehigh Valley Campus and to provide recognition and financial assistance. To be eligible, students must be enrolled full-time or part-time and have been offered and accepted admission to the Lehigh Valley campus, and who have achieved superior academic records or who manifest promise of outstanding academic success.  Each scholarship shall be awarded for one academic year and may be renewed for subsequent years providing the recipient continues to meet the conditions of eligibility and funds are available.

Julius Cohen Memorial Fund
The purpose of the Julius Cohen Memorial Fund, is to support undergraduate students enrolled or planning to enroll at Penn State Lehigh Valley, or successor academic unit, who have achieved superior academic records or who manifest promise of outstanding academic success and who have a demonstrated financial need for funds to meet their necessary college expenses and whose gender, race, ethnic, cultural and/or national background contribute to the diversity of the student body. Each scholarship shall be awarded for one academic year and may be renewed for subsequent years providing the recipient continues to meet eh conditions of eligibility and funds are available.

Jim Young Scholarship Fund
The purpose of the Jim Young Scholarship Fund is to provide recognition and financial assistance to outstanding undergraduate students enrolled or planning to enroll at Penn State Lehigh Valley who have achieved superior academic records or who manifest promise of outstanding academic success. Each scholarship shall be awarded for one academic year.

John V. Cooney Pre-College Youth Program Fund
Consideration for the John V. Cooney Pre-College Youth Program Fund shall be given to all full-time undergraduate students enrolled or planning to enroll at Penn State Lehigh Valley who are graduates of the Allentown or Bethlehem school districts, and who have a proven financial need. Eligible students should be identified as students who have participated in pre-college programming as recommended by their counselors or teachers and who demonstrate ability and enthusiasm to succeed. Each scholarship shall be awarded for one academic year and may be renewed for subsequent years providing the recipient continues to meet the conditions of eligibility and funds are available.

Lehigh Valley General Scholarship
Consideration for the Lehigh Valley General Scholarship is to provide recognition and financial assistance to outstanding undergraduate students enrolled or planning to enroll in programs at Penn State Lehigh Valley who have achieved superior academic records or who manifest promise of outstanding academic success. Each scholarship shall be awarded for one academic year but may be renewed for subsequent years providing the recipient continues to meet the conditions of eligibility and funds are available.

Mabel White Riker Memorial Scholarship at Penn State Lehigh Valley
Consideration for this scholarship shall be given to all full-time undergraduate students enrolled or planning to enroll at Penn State Lehigh Valley who have achieved superior academic records or who manifest promise of outstanding academic success and how have a proven financial need. Primary consideration is given to Allentown City School District students who plan major in Education with a Mathematics Teaching Option. Otherwise, it shall be open to graduates of any public high school in Lehigh County who plan to major in the College of Education, College of Engineering; or to Chemistry, Physics or Pre-Medicine majors. Each scholarship shall be awarded for one academic year and may be renewed for subsequent years providing the recipient continues to meet the conditions of eligibility and funds are available.

Jerome and Martha Markowitz Trustee Scholarship
Consideration for the Jerome and Martha Markowitz Scholarship shall be given to all undergraduate students enrolled or planning to enroll at Penn State Lehigh Valley who have a demonstrated financial need. The Office of Student Aid is responsible for identifying the eligible pool of students. Each scholarship shall be awarded for one academic year and may be renewed for subsequent years providing the recipient continues to meet the conditions of eligibility and funds are available.

John and Janie Mershon Scholarship at Penn State Lehigh Valley
All full-time undergraduate students enrolled or planning to enroll at Penn State Lehigh Valley, or successor academic unit, who have achieved superior academic records or who manifest promise of outstanding academic success, who have a demonstrated financial need for funds to meet their necessary college expenses, and who gender, race, ethnic, cultural, and/or national background contribute to the diversity of the study body are eligible for this scholarship. Each scholarship shall be awarded for one academic year and may be renewed for subsequent years providing the recipient continues to meet the conditions of eligibility and funds are available.

Patt Family Scholarship
Consideration for the Patt Family Scholarship shall be given to all full-time undergraduate students enrolled or planning to enroll in the Business Program at Penn State Lehigh Valley, who have achieved superior academic records or who manifest promise of outstanding academic success, and who have a demonstrated financial need. Each scholarship shall be awarded for one academic year and may be renewed for subsequent years providing the recipient continues to meet the conditions of eligibility and funds are available.

Patt-White Company Scholarship
Consideration for the Patt-White Company Scholarship shall be given to all full-time undergraduate students enrolled or planning to enroll in the business curriculum at the Lehigh Valley campus of The Pennsylvania State University who have achieved superior academic records or who manifest promise of outstanding academic success. Each scholarship shall be awarded for one academic year and may be renewed for subsequent years providing the recipient continues to meet the conditions of eligibility and funds are available.

Presidential Commonwealth Educational System Scholarship
Consideration for this scholarship shall be given to all undergraduate students enrolled or planning to enroll at any Penn State Commonwealth Campus location who have achieved excellent academic records or who manifest promise of outstanding academic success. Each scholarship shall be awarded for one academic year.

The Richard Laird Smith Memorial Scholarship
Consideration for the Richard Laird Smith Memorial Scholarship shall be given to all full-time students who are currently enrolled or are planning to enroll in mechanical engineering at the Lehigh Valley Campus, who are graduates of Parkland High School, and who have achieved superior academic records or who manifest promise of outstanding academic success. If no qualified candidates who are planning to major in mechanical engineering can be identified, other students enrolled or planning to enroll in the College of Engineering shall be considered. Each scholarship shall be awarded for one academic year and may be renewed for subsequent years providing the recipient continues to meet the conditions of eligibility and funds are available.

Rudy Mohr Memorial Scholarship
Consideration for the Rudy Mohr Memorial Scholarship shall be given to all full-time undergraduate students who are currently enrolled or planning to enroll at the Lehigh Valley Campus, who have achieved superior academic records or who manifest promise of outstanding academic success, and who demonstrate involvement in the community or campus. Each scholarship shall be awarded for one academic year and may be renewed for subsequent years providing the recipient continues to meet the conditions of eligibility and funds are available.

Eugene R. and Sandra A. Slaski Scholarship
Consideration for the Eugene R. and Sandra A. Slaski Scholarship shall be given to all undergraduate students enrolled or planning to enroll at Penn State Lehigh Valley who have demonstrated superior academic ability or who manifest promise of outstanding academic achievement; who have displayed leadership ability; and, who have a demonstrated need for financial assistance. Each scholarship shall be awarded for one academic year and may be renewed for subsequent years providing the recipient continues to meet the conditions of eligibility and funds are available.

Lehigh Valley Student Affairs Staff Annually Funded Scholarship
Consideration for the Lehigh Valley Student Affairs Staff Annually Funded Scholarship shall be given to all junior and senior students enrolled at Penn State Lehigh Valley who have achieved superior academic records. Each scholarship shall be awarded for one academic year and shall not be renewed.

Trustee Scholarship Fund for Penn State Lehigh Valley
Consideration for the Trustee Scholarship Fund for Penn State Lehigh Valley shall be given to all undergraduate students enrolled or planning to enroll at Penn State Lehigh Valley who have a demonstrated financial need. Each scholarship shall be awarded for one academic year and may be renewed for subsequent years providing the recipient continues to meet the conditions of eligibility and funds are available.

Renaissance Scholarships

Each year, the Renaissance Fund honors an individual or couple who, through a lifetime of service, has contributed greatly to the Penn State community. An endowed scholarship fund is created in the name of each honoree, and gifts to the fund are made by other Penn State supporters or members of the public. Once established, renaissance scholarships are directed to high-achieving students with great financial need.
