Bio

Dr. Leslie Staffeld is currently a full time Elementary Education Instructor and the Coordinator of Student Teaching at Penn State Lehigh Valley, where she teaches early childhood education courses, instructs the teaching of social studies course, and works with pre-service and student teachers. She is also a consultant with Discovery Education, supporting teachers as they implement the Common Core Standards and administrators as they lead their schools toward digital integration.

Leslie worked in public education for 35 years. She has taught students from pre-kindergarten to graduate school. She was an elementary school principal for 26 years in the Quakertown Community School District. Her buildings achieved annual yearly progress every year.

Leslie earned a Bachelor of Science in Education from Wittenberg University, a Master of Education in Special Education from Lehigh University and a Doctorate of Educational Administration, also from Lehigh University.

Leslie is a life-long learner and an advocate of professional development. Most recently she presented at the regional Diverse Literacies Conference (Evidence Based Reading and Writing) and the state Early Childhood Summit (Toys, Technology and Play).
