Lehigh Valley's Thigpen retires as longest-standing director of academic affairs

Kenneth A. Thigpen, director of academic affairs at Penn State Lehigh Valley, has announced he will retire in December 2017 after more than nine years of service to the Lehigh Valley campus — and 35 years of total service to Penn State.

Jacqueline McLaughlin, associate professor of biology at Penn State Lehigh Valley, was recently recognized by the North American Association for Environmental Education. McLaughlin was honored with the Higher Education Educator of the Year Award, given to educators for promoting environmental education and utilizing the environment as a context for learning in their teaching.
