Annual Food Drive to Benefit Sixth Street Shelter

Every November for the past several years, the Office of Student Affairs spearheads the Annual Penn State Lehigh Valley Thanksgiving Food Drive to benefit the Sixth Street Shelter in Allentown. This year our efforts will help feed 47 families residing at the shelter.

Mini-Days of Caring Sixth Street Shelter

Penn State Lehigh Valley students went to the Sixth Street Shelter in Allentown on March 7 to help distribute food to those who rely on weekly food distributions from the shelter; restock the shelves at the food pantry; organize donation shelves for resident apartments and help clean the child care and play room.

Penn State Lehigh Valley students had another opportunity to change lives by participating in the Adopt an Apartment program for the third year in a row. Students painted, cleaned and made some major renovations to an apartment provided by the Sixth Street Shelter in Allentown.

Penn State Lehigh Valley's annual Thanksgiving food drive feeds families in need

The annual Thanksgiving food drive at Penn State Lehigh Valley was such a success that after purchasing enough food to feed nearly 50 families the campus was able to donate more than $1,200 to the Sixth Street Shelter in Allentown.

Thanksgiving Food Drive collections have begun

Students, faculty, and staff are encouraged to make donations for the campus' annual Thanksgiving food drive. Items collected will go towards providing a full Thanksgiving dinner to 47 families at the Sixth Street Shelter in Allentown.
