Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, is partner city for Any Given Child

The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts has chosen Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, as the 24th site, and first in Pennsylvania, for Ensuring the Arts for Any Given Child. Penn State Lehigh Valley is serving as one of the partners of the program.

SteelStacks hosting outdoor viewing party for Penn State-Ohio State game Oct. 28

A free "White Out Viewing Party at SteelStacks" starting at 3 p.m. on Oct. 28, presented by Penn State Lehigh Valley and ArtsQuest, features the Penn State-Ohio State game on the Levitt Pavilion’s large outdoor television screen in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.

Allentown School District Visual Arts Educations visit PSU-LV

K-12 visual arts educators from the Allentown School District participated in a Gallery Walk on October 9 coordinated by Ann Lalik, gallery director and arts coordinator at Penn State Lehigh Valley. The social studies educators attended the second half of the morning to participate in the discussion about the Vietnam War and learn about the current exhibit at the Community Gallery, "The War is still with us" in partnership with PBS39. DaWayne Cleckley from PBS39 and Art Villafane from Vietnam Veterans of America Lehigh Valley Chapter 415 led the discussion. Teachers took a break during the visit in the Ronald K. De Long Gallery which is currently showing "DIGEST: Daisuke Shintani & Atsuko Tajima."

Doctoral candidate from Spain travels to Lehigh Valley to study under Poe expert

Dimitrios Tsokanos, a doctoral candidate from the University of Almeria, located in Almeria, Spain, has been a scholar in residence at Penn State Lehigh Valley working with Barbara Cantalupo, professor of English, on Tsokanos’s thesis on the Hellenic influences in Edgar Allan Poe’s work.
