Specialist Certificate: Teaching Writing and Literacy:
Penn State Specialist Certificate: Teaching Writing & Literacy is a 15-credit post-baccalaureate program. Similar in design to the Pennsylvania Department of Education’s range of educational endorsements, the Writing Specialist Certificate is designed to afford educators in-depth study in all aspects of teaching literacy. For all educators, K-12, including: K-12 teachers in all content areas; ESL, gifted, and special education teachers; Literacy coaches; Paraprofessionals; Curriculum coordinators; Administrators.
College, Career, and Community Writers Program:
LVWP’s Advanced Institute: Creating College Ready Writers is designed to develop teacher-leadership in argument writing at the secondary level. This three-credit course is a blend of face-to-face workshops and coached on-the-job practical application of NWP’s College, Career, and Community Writers Program (C3WP), which provides mini-units and text sets designed around best practices in teaching argument writing. Participants will be eligible to provide CRWP professional development in schools on behalf of LVWP upon completion of the Advanced Institute.
