The Penn State alumni family grew by more than 15,000 this past weekend as the University recognized its spring 2020 graduates in a livestreamed commencement ceremony, which took place on Saturday, May 9.
In the face of severe financial impacts to the University brought on by the global coronavirus pandemic, on April 23 Penn State President Eric J. Barron announced some salary adjustments; a 3% across-the-board cut to university budgets in the next fiscal year; and his intention to work with the Board of Trustees to freeze tuition for the 2020-21 academic year to limit student costs.
A crowd of nearly 250 people came to celebrate a groundbreaking ceremony at Penn State Lehigh Valley on March 4 for the $14.4 million expansion project which will include a new dining facility, student resources, STEM wing and organic chemistry lab.
Penn State Lehigh Valley's 2020 Winter White Out was held Feb. 9 at Stabler Arena. Penn State Lehigh Valley women's basketball team beat Penn State Hazleton, 87 to 55. Penn State Lehigh Valley men's basketball team lost to Penn State Hazleton, 82 to 50.
