CENTER VALLEY, Pa. — Eight Penn State Lehigh Valley business students earned top honors at the Council for Retail and Sales Case Competition, powered by Walmart and held at DeSales University.
The first-place team award went to Penn State Lehigh Valley students Dominic Baio, Bryahna Stanat, Diana Moussa and Cheyenne Kressler.
The second-place team included Rohan Vignesh, Dhani Patel, Jeremiah Stinvil and Ali-Abbas Bhimji.
Additionally, Jeremiah Stinvil received the Best Presenter Award.
Teams were challenged to develop strategies for maintaining brand and customer loyalty amid current economic uncertainties. The fall 2025 collegiate competition awarded $1,200 to the first-place team and $400 to the second-place team.
Senior Bryahna Stanat, a four-time case competition participant, credited her professors for helping the teams achieve such strong results.
“Dr. Ogden guides, motivates and encourages us in so many ways,” Stanat said. “From late-night calls to help us prepare our cases to being a mentor and champion, she is always pushing us to succeed.”
Denise Ogden, professor of marketing at Penn State Lehigh Valley, brings a wealth of industry experience to the classroom, providing students with opportunities to think globally and engage creatively in solving real-world business challenges.
“Dr. Ogden tells us to find a solution — don’t focus on the challenge,” added Stanat, who also praised Mark Capofari, assistant teaching professor of project and supply chain management. “Mark knows exactly how to share constructive feedback that pushes us to improve. His excitement is infectious — you just want to push yourself more.”
Stanat, who completed her internship and will begin a full-time position at The Rockland Group after graduation, said she’s eager to begin her career with the skills she’s learned.
“Penn State Lehigh Valley has given me the skills to think critically, apply real-world concepts, and understand the intricacies of financial analysis,” she said. “The faculty care so deeply about our success, and today was a way of giving back and demonstrating how much they’ve taught us.”
