Summer Course Tuition

$555 per credit – Pennsylvania Residents 
$892 per credit – Non Pennsylvania Residents

Please Note: Courses are paid per credit. Some Penn State students may pay more than $555 per credit on their division and major. Please contact the Bursar Office directly for additional information: 610-285-5060

Student Technology and Student Fees

Students are required to pay student and information technology fees in the summer. The price depends on the number of credits you are enrolled in during the Summer Session(s). Adding credits on or after the first day of the semester could result in a corresponding increase in the fee. Dropping credits on or after the first day of the semester will not reduce the fee.  The price breakdown is listed below:

Technology Fee:

$63 technology fee, 1-4 credits
$126 technology fee, 5-8 credits
$189 technology fee, 9 or more credits

Student Fee:

$59 student fee, 1-4 credits
$118 student fee, 5-8 credits
$177 student fee, 9 or more credits

Tuition Adjustment Schedule

Students should contact the Bursar’s Office regarding the tuition adjustment schedule and policy/procedure information. Veterans should contact the Bursar’s Office if they are planning to use VA education benefits.

Frequently Asked Questions About Summer Bills

Students must check LionPath for their summer 2018 tuition bill. Billing begins May 1, 2018. To avoid a 1.5% late fee charge statements must be paid by the due date.

Do you offer a payment plan for Summer Session? Is that plan for both visiting and current PSU students?

Yes, an installment plan is available for all PSU students and visiting students, but can only be obtained during Summer I Session. There is a one-time fee per semester of $45 to use the plan. Due dates for the installment plan are:

First payment – May 22, 2018

Second payment – June 22, 2018

Final payment – July 22, 2018

Note: The installment plan is not available during Summer Session II. 

Can I use financial aid for summer courses?

Please contact your financial aid advisor to see if you have funds that can be used over the summer.
