This introductory course provides an understanding of how educators can create a more trauma sensitive school environment that ultimately leads to student’s academic and social success! The course will cover Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs), other types of trauma and toxic stress and the impact they have on the brain, body and child development. Participants will also discuss how trauma shows up in children’s behavior in the classroom. The course will provide strategies to better recognize and respond to children who may have experienced trauma as well as help educators create a healing classroom/school environment.
