Youth & Pre-College Programs

Penn State Lehigh Valley's commitment to education in our community begins with children long before they reach college age. Through the department of Continuing Education & Outreach, Penn State Lehigh Valley is able to engage future students and expose them to the opportunities that education affords through numerous program types.

The LEOS Program

A Postsecondary Transition Program

The Life Education Occupational Studies (LEOS) program offered at the Penn State Lehigh Valley campus supports students who have intellectual disabilities and developmental delays while they gain meaningful collegiate experiences. The LEOS program combines individualized coaching sessions, group seminars, and audited academic courses to facilitate self-advocacy and independence for students. As a sister program to University Park’s Worklink and Penn State Harrisburg’s Career Studies programs, LEOS offers education and training for students to gain meaningful employment and independent living skills, while accessing classes and clubs on the Penn State Lehigh Valley campus.

Personal Growth Programs

Those who are not interested in furthering a specific career path through Continuing Education & Outreach's professional development programs may choose to explore topics in a more laid-back, homework-free setting. Continuing Education & Outreach provides the opportunity to explore a number of areas of personal growth through no-stress and non-credit arts courses, lecture series, and much more.
