Penn State President Eric Barron and James Delattre, associate vice president for research and director of the Office of Entrepreneurship and Commercialization, addressed lawmakers Nov. 9 in Harrisburg during a hearing of the Pennsylvania Senate Community, Economic and Recreational Development Committee. The hearing focused on Penn State’s efforts to drive economic development, job creation, entrepreneurship and innovation, and student career success through the Invent Penn State initiative.

Penn State has launched 21 innovation hubs since 2015 that are helping to drive innovation and economic growth in Commonwealth Campus communities statewide. Each hub is tailored to meet the needs of the community it serves and offers no-cost co-working space, business accelerator programs, legal and intellectual property advice, rapid prototyping resources and more to help startups and small businesses thrive.
