Air-Conditioning 

🔔Update: Building closure extends from July 1 until after 11:00am on Thursday, July 2.

• Please Note: No one will have access to the main building on Thursday, 7/2/26 until 11:00am.  
• Equipment and cranes will be on campus to install air-conditioning units.  
• All employees should consult their supervisors regarding work arrangements.  

Penn State Lehigh Valley will be getting new air conditioning units installed on the roof during the month of July.  As a result, some areas of the building will experience periods where there is no air-conditioning.  The campus will remain open throughout this improvement project but building access may be restricted. 

• Employees should work directly with their supervisor to determine their unit work arrangements during the installation period.  

• Accommodations have been made for NSO, the nursing program and other summer courses.  

• Specific information will be communicated directly to the impacted units. 
  
   

Project Details 

7/1/26 

• No one will have access to the main building on Wednesday, 7/1/26.  

• Equipment and cranes will be on campus to install air-conditioning units.  

• All employees should consult their supervisors regarding work arrangements.  

7/2/26 to 7/10/26 | Air Restored 7/13/26 

• Access to the building is available

• Work on unit 1 will take place during this period, but there will be no air-conditioning in the east or west wings.  

• Air-conditioning will be restored to the west-wing (the gym area to the loading dock, and floors 2 and 3 above) on 7/13/26. 

7/2/26 to 7/24/26 | Air Restored 7/27/26 

• Access to the building is available

• Work on units 2 and 3 will take place during this period, but there will be no air-conditioning from Center Hall to the east wing, on all floors.  

• Air-conditioning will be restored to this area on 7/27/26. 
   

Please Note 

• Air-conditioning is available throughout the project in the expansion wing.
• There will be no access to the expansion wing on Wednesday, 7/1/26. 
• The Nittany Cafe, Student Affairs, the student lounge, classrooms 330, 335 and chem lab will have air-conditioning during the entire improvement project and are available for co-working, classes, and events.
