Applications for the 2022-23 Justice and Equity Fellowship Deadline Extended to April 11, 2022!
2022-23 Academic Year
Fellowships are open to full-time degree seeking students from any discipline who are interested in conducting research that has implications for justice, equity, diversity and/or inclusion.
The proposed research could either be a student's independent research or research that is part of a faculty member's research. Students may apply as individuals or as teams (of up to four students).
The winner(s) will be announced by April 29, 2022.
The total award is between $1000 and $3000. Student awardee(s) will be guided by faculty mentors and community or industry partners and steered toward professional academic opportunities. Aside from conducting research, expectations include assisting with a JEDI speakers’ series and presenting own research results at the end of the fellowship term.
In order to apply to the JEDI Research Fellowship, please complete the online application. The application asks for:
- Your current and future status as a Penn State Lehigh Valley student
- Information on team members (if applicable)
- A proposed budget breakdown
- Short essay questions on:
your proposed research topic and why you are interested in it
implications of your proposed research for justice and equity for one or more social groups
your background and the strengths you bring to this opportunity
how this opportunity with enhance your academic and/or career goals
