The Penn State Lehigh Valley CHANCE (Connecting Humans And Nature through Conservation Experiences) Program is accepting applications for a unique short-term study abroad program in Romania this spring and summer. Students at all Penn State campuses who are sophomores, juniors or seniors in spring 2023 and interested in conducting undergraduate research are encouraged to apply. Student research will focus on sustainability issues facing the Danube River and Delta.
The Penn State Lehigh Valley Alumni Society will hold its annual “Dance for a Cure” fundraiser to benefit THON on Saturday, Jan. 28, at the Events Center at Shepherds Hill Golf Club in Wescosville. This is the first in-person event since 2020.
The Penn State Center for Socially Responsible Artificial Intelligence recently announced the results of its third seed funding competition. The center awarded $145,000 to advance six interdisciplinary research projects that feature researchers from eight colleges and institutes.
The set for beloved local holiday show Pip the Mouse received a makeover from two Penn State Lehigh Valley students. The goal is to make the set mobile and take it out into the community. Penn State Lehigh Valley graphic design students created a new set for the Pip the Mouse puppet show last semester. Pending funding, the new mobile site will allow the historic puppet show to travel to venues like nursing homes, homeless shelters, and children’s hospitals to make the season a little brighter for everyone.
