Photo of the Week: Bill Spence receives Alumni Award

William H. Spence (left), 1979 graduate of the College of Earth and Mineral Sciences, was one of 16 Penn Staters honored by the Penn State Alumni Association on Oct. 23 with the Alumni Fellow Award, the highest award given by the Alumni Association. Spence, who is chairman and CEO of PPL Corporation, posed with his wife, Denise Spence, daughter, Rachel Siegel and son-in-law, Jason Siegel, at the dinner event held at the Penn Stater Hotel and Conference Center. The Alumni Fellow program is administered by the Penn State Alumni Association in cooperation with the University's academic colleges, campuses and the Office of the President. Alumni are nominated by a college or campus as leaders in their professional fields and accept an invitation from the president of the University to return to campus to share their expertise with students, faculty and administrators. Spence was nominated by Penn State Lehigh Valley.

Photo of the Week: Miracle League of Lehigh Valley Halloween Bash

Penn State Lehigh Valley students, including RHS, Psychology and first-year students, volunteered at the Miracle League Halloween Bash on Oct. 29 at Jaindl Family Park. The Miracle League of the Lehigh Valley is a nonprofit organization that helps children and young adults with special needs enjoy baseball and other activities.  The Halloween Bash is their way to bring the neighborhood to the children so they can enjoy a night of trick or treating.  It was the fourth year that Penn State Lehigh Valley participated.
