Wendie Chen's colored-pencil piece titled “Color of Life” won a community award at the Hope & Healing Juried Art Show. Displayed underneath her artwork was the saying, “Even if living in a black and white world, love can always retrieve the color of life.”
Ron De Long, lecturer in fine art at Penn State Lehigh Valley, and Wendie Chen, a first-year international student, attended the award ceremony on March 22 where Chen was presented a community art award for her colored-pencil drawing of a man embracing a woman.
Penn State 2017-2018 Laureate Andrew Belser presented to PSU-LV students, faculty and staff about aging and how people feel about the aging process on March 26 when he visited the Lehigh Valley campus. Belser also discussed his award winning FaceAge Video Program and showed two out of the six chapters in the film.
PSU-LV students interviewed students from Utrecht University and the University of Amsterdam about Dutch culture. Students are now editing mini-documentaries from their trip.
This spring break eight PSU-LV and other Penn State students, traveled together to Guanajuato, Mexico as part of a short-term study abroad program.In 2017, PSU University College signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with University of Guanajuato (UG) that included facilitation of short-term programs for students. PSU-LV serves as the primary liaison between Penn State and UG for embedded study abroad trips.
