K-12 visual arts educators from the Allentown School District participated in a Gallery Walk on October 9 coordinated by Ann Lalik, gallery director and arts coordinator at Penn State Lehigh Valley. The social studies educators attended the second half of the morning to participate in the discussion about the Vietnam War and learn about the current exhibit at the Community Gallery, "The War is still with us" in partnership with PBS39. DaWayne Cleckley from PBS39 and Art Villafane from Vietnam Veterans of America Lehigh Valley Chapter 415 led the discussion. Teachers took a break during the visit in the Ronald K. De Long Gallery which is currently showing "DIGEST: Daisuke Shintani & Atsuko Tajima."
Prospective student athletes posed after the first-ever Penn State Lehigh Valley Athletics Open House held on campus on October 9. Prospective students and their families learned more about campus athletic programs as well as the admissions and financial aid process.
Barbara Cantalupo, professor of English at Penn State Lehigh Valley, mentored Dimitrios Tsokanos, a doctoral student from Spain, on his Poe thesis while he visited the Lehigh Valley campus as a scholar in residence last month.
The Penn State Lehigh Valley chapter of the Blue & White Society, the student branch of the Penn State Alumni Association, hosted a Blue & White Society Bash on Sept. 28 at the Lehigh Valley campus. Students celebrated their school spirit and enjoyed fun activities, including a performance by the new Penn State Lehigh Valley Glee club.

Students will learn about the transfer admissions process, receive a tour of the campus and have the opportunity to complete their Penn State application with the help of an admissions counselor at the Transfer Thursday event being held this fall at the Lehigh Valley campus.
Dimitrios Tsokanos took the bus to Philadelphia at the end of September so he could tour Edgar Allan Poe’s home, an historic site part of the National Park Service, and walk the streets where Poe walked.
