Twelve local students completed the Teen Entrepreneurship Summer Challenge, which is part of Lehigh Valley LaunchBox and the Invent Penn State initiative.
The SafetyPak team won the pitch competition during the Teen Entrepreneurship Summer Challenge at Penn State Lehigh Valley. The students invented a product to ease parents' distress. SafetyPak is a backpack reinvented that consists of safety items such as a GPS, tracking system, first aid kit, umbrella, home and police calling buttons and other travel-sized amenities.
During the Teen Entrepreneurship Summer Challenge, students were exposed to programming and to successful entrepreneurs in an effort to instill an entrepreneurial mindset. Students reflected on what they learned and what they took away from the experiences during the two-week program.
The goal of SAGE is to encourage intellectual and cultural enrichment for seniors, 55 and older, by providing a stimulating college-level lecture, workshop and seminar environment.
