Penn State Lehigh Valley announces fall 2018 professional certificate offerings

CENTER VALLEY, Pa. — Penn State Lehigh Valley will begin offering its fall 2018 professional development courses in early September.

Local professionals will have the opportunity to study for certification exams in multiple areas, including:.

Project Management, which begins Sept. 11. This program consists of four course modules; each one is five weeks in length, which covers the terminology, concepts and calculations used by Project Management Institute (PMI). All four courses are PMI approved for continuing education credits. Module 1 costs $800 and includes all course materials. Modules 2, 3 and 4 cost $650. Classes will be held from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. on consecutive Tuesdays at the Center Valley campus, located at 2809 Saucon Valley Road in Center Valley. PayTrain Level 1 prepares payroll professionals for the Fundamental Payroll Certification and eventually the Certified Payroll Professional certification. The course begins Oct. 6 and delivers comprehensive, flexible and effective FPC and CPP exam preparation. This program teaches fundamental payroll calculations and applications, including payroll concepts and calculations, fringe benefits, payroll reporting and employment taxes, record keeping and payroll practices, payroll accounting, and administration. The course content will include the new 2018 Tax Reform Act. The cost of the course is $895. PayTrain Level 1 is a prerequisite to PayTrain Level 2. For more information, visit the PayTrain website
