An update on the latest activities of the Penn State Lehigh Valley (PSU-LV) men’s and women's basketball teams.


Women's basketball flies past Penn State Scranton, 111-43

Sophomore Makayla Brown-Paul shot 9 for 11 from 3-point land for a career-high 33 points as she led PSU-LV women's basketball to a home opening PSUAC win over visiting PSU Scranton, 111-43, Nov. 27 in Allentown, Pennsylvania.  With the win, Lehigh Valley improves to 4-2 on the season and 1-0 in conference play.

Lehigh Valley opened the first quarter with a 20-8 lead and never looked backed as they sailed into halftime up 46-16. 

Three other Lehigh Valley players scored in double figures, as well. First-year student Kion Andrews added a double-double with 22 points and 12 rebounds. First-year student Ally Quinn chipped in with 14 points and sophomore Rebecca Fuehrer contributed 11 points. 

Women's basketball runs by Penn State Mont Alto, 78-44 

The Penn State Lehigh Valley women's basketball team outscored visiting Penn State Mont Alto, 41-18, in the first half to cruise to a 78-44 PSUAC conference win and their third straight win on Dec. 1. Junior Ebony Sanders had a double-double with 21 points and 11 rebounds. First-year student Kion Andrews shot 7 for 13 from the floor and added 18 points. With the win, Lehigh Valley improves to 5-2 overall and 2-0 in PSUAC play.

Lehigh Valley will travel to Penn State Schuylkill on Dec. 5 for a 6 p.m. tip-off.

Men's basketball cruises past Penn State Scranton, 101-77 

Newly appointed Penn State Lehigh Valley men's basketball coach, Tom Mosser, earned his first college victory as the Lehigh Valley Nittany Lions downed visiting PSUAC opponent Penn State Scranton, 101-77, Nov. 27 in Allentown, Pennsylvania. Mosser who took over the team a little less than two weeks ago had his team playing at a high defensive level as they outscored Scranton 54-35 in the second half to take the first conference victory. 

Senior Jeremiah Jenkins had a career night scoring a career-high 37 points. Four other Lehigh Valley players scored in double figures, Erick Dixon added 15 points, James Middleton added a double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds. Brandon Purrone and Jordan McChristian each chipped in with 10 points.

Men's basketball falls to Penn State Mont Alto, 57-53

The Penn State Lehigh Valley men's basketball team took Penn State Mont Alto to the wire, but came up short 57-53 on Dec. 1 in Allentown, Pennsylvania. With one minute left in the game, Lehigh Valley cut the deficit to 3 points, but turned the ball over that put Mont Alto on the foul line. With the loss, Lehigh Valley drops to 2-2 overall and 1-1 in PSUAC play. Senior James Middleton had a game high 14 points and senior Jeremiah Jenkins added 12 points.

Lehigh Valley will travel to Penn State Schuylkill on Dec. 5 for an 8 p.m. tip-off.
