An update on the latest activities of the Penn State Lehigh Valley (PSU-LV) men’s and women's basketball teams

Women's basketball wins 12th straight, downs Penn State Beaver, 70-60

The Penn State Lehigh Valley women's basketball team remained unbeaten in the PSUAC taking down previously unbeaten Penn State Beaver, 70-60, Jan. 25 in Allentown. With the win, Penn State Lehigh Valley improves to 13-2 and 9-0 in the PSUAC.  Junior Ebony Sanders had a monster game inside having another double double with 15 points and 15 rebounds. First-year player Kion Andrews also added a double double of her own with 14 points & 12 rebounds. First-year player Jah'nel Oliver chipped in with 10 points. 

Men's basketball slips up against Penn State Beaver, 75-67

The Penn State Lehigh Valley men's basketball team trailed 41-29 at half but rallied back in the second half winning the half 38-34, it would not be enough as Penn State Beaver won 75-67 on Jan. 25. First-year player Brandon Purrone led the way for Lehigh Valley with 21 points, senior Jeremiah Jenkins, who is closing the gap to 1,000 career points, added 14 points and senior James Middleton chipped in with 13 points. 

Women's basketball wins 13 straight and remains unbeaten in PSUAC by downing Penn State Fayette, 78-54

The Penn State Lehigh Valley Women's Basketball team won their 13th straight game and remained unbeaten in the PSUAC with a 78-54 win over Penn State Fayette at Stabler Arena on Jan. 26 at PSU-LV's Winter White Out game. With the win, PSULV improves to 14-2 and 10-0 in the PSUAC.

Fayette started the game with a 10-0 start, but stingy defense allowed PSU-LV to rally and hold a 33-29 halftime lead. Lehigh Valley would shut Fayette down in the 3rd quarter outscoring them 24-8. Freshman guard duo, Kion Andrews and Ally Quinn, each chipped in 17 points.

Jeremiah Jenkins needed 13 points to surpass the 1,000 mark and got that in the second half on a lay-up on Jan. 26 during the Winter White Out game at Stabler Arena.

Men's basketball defeats Penn State Fayette, 79-70.
Jeremiah Jenkins led with 23 points, including his 1,000th career point

The Penn State Lehigh Valley men's basketball celebrated two great happenings on Jan. 26 at Stabler Arena. The first is 79-70 win over visiting Penn State Fayette at the Penn State Lehigh Valley's Winter White Out promotional game and Penn State Lehigh Valley Senior Jeremiah Jenkins becoming the second player in Penn State Lehigh Valley men's basketball history and fifth player overall in school history to surpass the 1,000-point mark. 

Lehigh Valley held a 34-29 halftime lead and never looked back. Jenkins needed 13 points to surpass the 1,000 mark and got that in the second half on a lay-up. Jenkins had a team-high 23 points and senior James Middleton added 19 points. Sophomore Lewis Hargett chipped in with 10 points. With the win, Lehigh Valley improves to 4-9 overall and 3-7 in PSUAC play.

Jenkins spent two years at Central Carolina Community College where he accumulated 410 points. His junior year at Penn State Lehigh Valley, Jenkins scored a total of 317 points. This season he is leading the PSUAC in scoring, averaging 21.8 points per game and has accumulated 284 points up to this point of the season. Jordan Young, 2017 graduate, was the only other Penn State Lehigh Valley men's basketball player to surpass the milestone. Ashley Gordon, Andrea Watkins and Hannah Bankes are the three Penn State Lehigh Valley women's basketball players who surpassed the milestone as well.
