For Penn State Lehigh Valley student Felicia Shaner, the road has not always been easy. She was only 24 when she found herself homeless with a toddler and an infant. Now, not only do Shaner and her daughters have a home, they are thriving and gearing up to be featured on an NBC “Today" show segment on Friday, May 7.
The third cohort of Penn State Lehigh Valley's LEAP program (Leaders Emerging at Penn State) recently completed their session. The eight students include Aemen Ali, Salmaan Bhimji, Tobey Field, Kaili Enslin, Rhea Kocchar, Peter Lambrinos, Zara Riaz and Francheska Almanzar Rubiera.
Lehigh Valley LaunchBox will host a two-part sustainability speaking series in May and June. The first event is titled "Living Sustainably Begins at Home" and will be held via Zoom on May 25.
Dr. Lazaro is bilingual and multicultural and has earned his Ph.D. in public health, is a certified health care interpreter, educator, and dynamic biomedical professional working to eliminate health care disparities while encouraging research and learning in collaborative environments. In addition, his academic development work includes the authorship of a textbook for basic medical interpreter training and a medical terminology workbook for medical interpreters.
