Penn State Lehigh Valley announces new faculty and staff members, promotions

CENTER VALLEY, Pa. — Penn State Lehigh Valley has announced the following new faculty and staff hires and promotions:

Heather S. Amatore was named interim campus bursar and assistant registrar at Penn State Lehigh Valley. Amatore earned an associate of science in biological science and an associate of arts and science in medical laboratory technology, both from Northampton Community College. She had previously served as administrative assistant at Penn State Lehigh Valley, and as a preschool teacher at East Hills Moravian Church. Amatore currently resides in Bethlehem Township, Pennsylvania.

Margaret Christian received promotion to full rank and is now professor of English at Penn State Lehigh Valley. Christian earned a doctor of philosophy degree as well as a master of arts both in English from University of California, Los Angeles. She earned a bachelor of arts in English from La Sierra University in Riverside, California. Christian was previously an associate professor of English and has taught at Penn State Lehigh Valley since 1989. She resides in Allentown, Pennsylvania.

Annette M. Durnack has joined Penn State Lehigh Valley as director of business development, Lehigh Valley LaunchBox. Durnack earned a master of business administration from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and a bachelor of science in electrical engineering from Clarkson University. She previously served as regional director of commercial energy sales at Yardi Systems Inc. Durnack resides in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.

Danyell Fondl was named campus registrar at Penn State Lehigh Valley. Fondl earned a bachelor of science in human development and family studies from Penn State. She previously served as campus bursar and assistant registrar at Penn State Lehigh Valley. Fondl resides in Quakertown, Pennsylvania.

Blake R. Heffner has joined Penn State Lehigh Valley as a part-time lecturer of philosophy. Heffner earned a doctorate of philosophy in theology and history as well as a master of divinity from Princeton Theological Seminary. He also earned a bachelor of arts in philosophy and government from Lehigh University. He resides in Easton, Pennsylvania.

Kristy Hove was named director of planning and analysis at Penn State Lehigh Valley. Hove earned a master of arts in political science from Lehigh University and is currently pursuing a doctorate of philosophy in higher education leadership from Notre Dame of Maryland University. She earned a bachelor of science in political science from Muhlenberg College. Hove previously served as institutional planner at Penn State Lehigh Valley. She resides in Whitehall, Pennsylvania.

Alexandria "Sandy" Kile was named assistant teaching professor of communication, arts and sciences at Penn State Lehigh Valley. Kile earned a master of arts in speech communication from University of Maryland as well as a bachelor of arts in speech communication from Penn State. She previously served as lecturer of communication, arts and sciences at Penn State Lehigh Valley. Prior to joining Penn State Lehigh Valley, Kile served as human resources officer at Chrysler First, Inc. She resides in Schnecksville, Pennsylvania.

Teri Kistler was named program coordinator of rehabilitation and human services at Penn State Lehigh Valley. Kistler earned a master of social work from Marywood University as well as a bachelor of science in psychology from Edinboro University. Kistler also serves as an instructor in rehabilitation and human services at Penn State Lehigh Valley and is a licensed social worker. She resides in Coplay, Pennsylvania.

Colleen Krcelich has joined Penn State Lehigh Valley as lecturer of business. Krcelich earned a master of business administration from Lehigh University as well as a bachelor of science in accounting from Bloomsburg University. Kcrelich previously served as assistant professor of accounting at Cedar Crest College. She resides in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.

Beth E. Michalec was named assistant professor of corporate communication at Penn State Lehigh Valley. Michalec earned her doctorate of philosophy in rhetoric from Duquesne University, as well as a master of science in integrated marketing communications from West Virginia University. She earned a bachelor of arts in English literature and a bachelor of arts in communication both from Bethany College. She was previously a lecturer of corporate communication at Penn State Lehigh Valley.

Shauna Roman has joined Penn State Lehigh Valley as a part-time lecturer of rehabilitation and human services. Roman earned a master of science in training and organization development with a concentrating in adult learning from Saint Joseph’s University as well as a bachelor of arts in psychology from Emory University. She is also currently a part-time lecturer at Penn State Abington as well as the executive director of Networks for Training and Development Inc. Roman resides in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
