A Penn State Lehigh Valley student-led research project was one of six award winners at the March Eastern Sociological Society Conference in Washington, D.C.
Small business owners, entrepreneurs, students and community members gathered at Penn State Lehigh Valley on March 27 for a hands-on workshop exploring how artificial intelligence can be used to strengthen business strategy, improve decision-making and expand capacity for small teams.
Penn State Lehigh Valley welcomed members of its campus advisory board for a March 19 event that highlighted a period of growth, strategic investment and regional engagement for the campus, including workforce initiatives, academic innovation and a planned downtown Allentown expansion. Speakers emphasized the importance of entrepreneurship, alumni support and the University’s land-grant mission in expanding access, strengthening partnerships and preparing students for the evolving needs of the Lehigh Valley.
Faculty members Jeffrey Stone and Rifat Sabbir Mansur traveled with undergraduate students to the Association for Computing Machinery's Special Interest Group on Computer Science Education Technical Symposium, where they presented research on virtual reality, gamified programming instruction and AI-enhanced learning.
Justin De Senso, assistant teaching professor of English at Penn State Lehigh Valley, presented his research project, “Jim Crow in Blue: Policing While Black in Postwar New York City,” at the Penn State Lehigh Valley Research and Discovery Forum.
Penn State Lehigh Valley’s Kristy Hove is helping institutions better understand how today’s students choose colleges through data-driven research examining politics, perception and family influence. Presented at a regional higher education conference, her work highlights how analytics and student voice can inform enrollment strategy, communication and mission-driven planning across Pennsylvania.
