About the Exhibit...
In partnership with the Printmakers Society of the Lehigh Valley, the Ronald K. De Long Gallery at Penn State Lehigh Valley presents five printmakers, each from a unique perspective of the medium and each with a unique expression.
De Long
Ron De Long’s assemblage installation consists of an armada of model sailboats. They become the surface for print techniques such as photozerography, stenciling, stamping, embossing, rubbings and metal etching as well as a canvas to express De Long’s personal story.
Delluva
Pat Delluva explores monotype with these intimate works. She pulls the viewer into her small luscious landscapes and compositions.
Gans
Lucy Gans, utilizes photogravure, lithography, and letter press to reproduce images and letters about herself and her family lineage.
Redd
Richard Redd’s collagraphs recreate fairytales. The collograph process allows him to saturate the paper with color and texture. The rich surface camouflages images that slowly reveal themselves as you explore each print.
Summer
Evan Summer’s etchings of landscapes are void of human figures but acknowledge the existence of man. These powerful structured compositions are mysterious. The dark skies and dynamic objects seem to exist in a silent surrealistic world where mathematical perspective creates an extreme sense of depth.
