Students who graduate from the Biology program at Penn State Lehigh Valley can work in a research lab or hospital, as well as enter the biotechnology, healthcare, pharmaceutical, and environmental fields – or go on to medical school, veterinary, dental or other advanced degree programs.
Overview
The program was created to delve broadly and deeply into the science of living systems while maintaining the foundation in chemical and physical sciences needed to prepare for a future in science, working in fields including research or health sciences.
Coursework in areas such as microbiology, molecular biology, genetics, anatomy, and physiology will prepare you for the opportunity to do original research, working closely with your Penn State faculty mentors. Your classes will give you an overview of the field while allowing the flexibility to focus on the topics that excite your passions the most.
