To enroll in PaSSS, eligible first-year students must:

  1. Apply and be offered admission to Penn State as a first-time, baccalaureate or associate student.

  2. Receive an invitation from Penn State Lehigh Valley to participate in the program.

  3. Submit the PaSSS Enrollment Reply Form to participate in the program by Penn State Lehigh Valley’s priority deadline of Friday, April 15, 2022.

  4. Commit to attend Penn State Lehigh Valley by submitting the $230 enrollment fee by May 1, 2022.

  5. Agree to change their starting semester from Fall 2022 to Summer 2022.

  6. Visit fafsa.ed.gov. Complete a free 2021-22 FAFSA form using the Penn State school code 003329 no later than June 30, 2022, if interested in receiving federal aid for summer 2022. Although the deadline is June 30, it is recommended that PaSSS students submit the FAFSA by June 1, 2022. Students are strongly encouraged to complete the FAFSA form at the earliest possible date. Doing so does not obligate you to accept student aid.

  7. Submit the  PaSSS Commitment Form by the first day of the program, Wednesday, June 29, 2022, agreeing to attend class and participate in the co-curricular activities provided by the program.

Second-year PaSSS Students

Students who meet the following qualifications may renew awards for the subsequent summer session:

  1. Successfully complete the first summer of the PaSSS program

  2. Commit to continued engagement in the PaSSS program, by submitting the PaSSS Engagement Plan.

  3. Enroll in 15 credits and maintain full-time enrollment in both the fall and spring semesters of their first and second year at a Penn State Commonwealth campus that participates in PaSSS.

  4. Attain a minimum of a 2.0 cumulative GPA at the end of spring semester of their first year at Penn State.

  5. Enroll in a minimum of three and up to 12 credits during the summer session following the first and/or second year at a Penn State Commonwealth campus.

  6. The renewal award will provide a maximum award of $4,000 with up to an additional $2,000 in engagement funds.
