First Year PaSSS Students
Can I be considered for financial aid beyond the PaSSS scholarship provided by Penn State?
Yes. Complete the 2020-21 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) as early as possible, and no later than June 30. Although the deadline June 30, it is recommended that PaSSS students complete the FAFSA by June 1.

Where can I locate information regarding employment in the PaSSS program?

Will I be required to complete a background check for employment in the PaSSS Program?
Yes, the University will complete a background check through First Advantage prior to your employment.
May associate degree students participate in the PaSSS program?
Yes, both baccalaureate and associate degree students may enroll in the program.
Second Year PaSSS Students
Are there a minimum number of credits that I must enroll to be a part of the second summer of the PaSSS program?
To receive funding from the PaSSS program you must be enrolled a minimum of three credits.
Can I take some of my courses online and participate in the PaSSS second year program?
Yes. Second year PaSSS students may take courses at any Penn State campus.
May I take courses during either summer session and be a part of the second year PaSSS program?
You may elect to enroll in courses for either summer session at any Penn State campus, keeping in mind three or more credits are required for financial support from the PaSSS program towards your tuition cost.
Are there required courses that I must enroll in to be a part of the second summer session of PaSSS?
There are not any required courses. However there are suggested courses for you to enroll in if you have not already completed those courses and the suggested courses count toward your degree completion.

HOUSING
Does Penn State Lehigh Valley offer on-campus housing?
Penn State Lehigh Valley does not have on-campus housing. Visit the off-campus housing web page for more information.
EMPLOYMENT
Is employment available?
Yes, as long as the student is enrolled for a minimum of six credits for summer 2022 and has a 2.0 cumulative GPA or higher.

FUNDING
Does PaSSS provide funding to second year students in the program?
Yes, second year PaSSS students may receive a maximum tuition award of $4,000 (12 credits).
Additional engagement funds up to $2,000 may be awarded to be used for on-campus job opportunities, but may also be used for other engagement opportunities including research with a faculty member, unpaid internships, or community or service-learning projects during a student’s first two years.
Students must commit to continued engagement in the PaSSS program to earn these funds, by submitting and maintaining the PaSSS Engagement Plan.
STUDENT LIFE
Will there be programming available for second year PaSSS students?
Yes. While a student’s second summer is PaSSS not cohort-based, there will still be co-curricular engagement opportunities allowing for connection with the larger PSU Lehigh Valley PaSSS community.
