Nichola D. Gutgold, professor of communication arts and sciences at Penn State Lehigh Valley, was honored by Lehigh Valley Business as a 2018 Woman of Influence, alongside 27 other Lehigh Valley women.
Penn State Lehigh Valley invites high school students and their families to “Spend a Summer Evening” at the Lehigh Valley campus to learn about Penn State’s admissions process, financial aid timeline and the more than 160 academic options that are available. The event will be held two evenings this summer on July 19 and Aug. 9.
Penn State Lehigh Valley held its annual commencement ceremony on May 5 at ArtsQuest Center at SteelStacks in Bethlehem. The campus awarded associate and bachelor’s degrees to 115 students. The featured speaker for the event was Kassie Hilgert, CEO and president of ArtsQuest and a 1997 Penn State alumna.
Richard “Wes” Schlauch graduated with a degree in corporate communication on May 5 with 114 of his classmates from Penn State Lehigh Valley at ArtsQuest Center at SteelStacks in Bethlehem. Schlauch processed in with fellow graduates, walked up the stage to get his diploma and walked out of the Musikfest Café with his classmates during the recessional. These achievements on their own are noteworthy, but they are even more impressive because Schlauch suffered a stroke in 2010 when he was 16 years old, six days after he had an accident playing hockey while attending The Hill School in Pottstown.
The Ronald K. De Long Gallery at Penn State Lehigh Valley presents the Bethlehem Palette Club “All Member Exhibition,” which runs May 21 to July 21. The exhibit features paintings by both professional and first-time artists.
More than 130 students, faculty and staff of Penn State Lehigh Valley celebrated the end of the spring 2018 semester with the Finally Finished Fest on April 26 at the Lehigh Valley campus. The festivities were then followed by the Student Life Awards ceremony.
