2015 Faculty/Staff Award recipients announced, lauded for achievements

Each year, Penn State honors several members of its faculty and staff for the highest levels of academic excellence, outstanding leadership and meritorious service. The 2015 Faculty/Staff Award recipients — 33 outstanding University employees and one program — reach across campuses, colleges and administrative units and exemplify best practices and achievements among Penn Staters reflecting the University's mission of teaching, research and service.

Salute to our Veterans to be held Nov. 11 at Lehigh Valley

The Penn State Lehigh Valley veterans fraternity, Omega Delta Sigma, will serve as host for Salute to our Veterans, the campus’s commemoration of Veterans Day, at noon Nov. 11 in Room 135 at the campus in Center Valley. The event pays tribute to the campus community’s military service members and veterans and is free and open to the public.

Global Expo to highlight travel opportunities for Lehigh Valley students

Penn State Lehigh Valley faculty, with the support of the Student Activity Fee, will host the second annual Global and Cultural Engagement Expo for students from 1 to 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 5, in Room 135. The event’s purpose is to showcase the many international courses and programs that are offered throughout the year at the campus. The event is free and open to students, faculty and staff.

Lehigh Valley Alumni Society's Berkey ice cream sale underway

The Penn State Lehigh Valley Alumni Society is accepting orders through Oct. 17 for its semi-annual Berkey Creamery Ice Cream Sale. Ice cream orders will be available for pick up from 5 to 8 p.m. Nov. 20 at the campus in Center Valley. Proceeds from the sale benefit the Alumni Society First-Year Scholarship Fund.

Lehigh Valley campus expands spring break travel options for students

Penn State Lehigh Valley has expanded the number of spring break travel opportunities offered this year. During spring break (March 9-15), Lehigh Valley campus faculty and staff are leading more than 75 students on trips to Great Britain, Ireland, Mexico, and Peru, as well as Massachusetts and West Virginia.

Penn State Laureate to bring new perspective to music of The Beatles

Penn State Lehigh Valley will welcome the University's 2013-2014 Laureate, Kenneth Womack, for a special presentation at 7 p.m. on April 10 in room 135. Womack, a professor and dean of academic affairs at Penn State Altoona, will deliver a multimedia presentation, "From Work to Text: The Beatles' 'A Day in the Life.'"

Alumni Society Ice Cream Sale under way

The Penn State Lehigh Valley Alumni Society Spring Berkey Creamery Ice Cream sale is accepting orders now through March 8. Ice cream pick up will be held from 5-7 p.m. on March 21 at the campus in Center Valley. Proceeds from the ice cream sale benefit the Alumni Society's First-Year Scholarship fund for Penn State Lehigh Valley students.
